Founded in 1967, the Louisville Youth Choir (LYC) is home to six ensembles: Primary Singers (K-2nd Grade), Treble Choir (3rd-6th Grade), Aria Choir (7th-12th Grade), Chamber Choir (7th-12th Grade), Choral Scholars ((th-12th Grade) and Lascito Coro (adult SSA choir founded by alumnae of LYC and Sacred Heart Academy). As a community-based organization, LYC typically draws more than 100 children, youth, and adults, ages 6 and beyond from over 60 schools and diverse neighborhoods throughout the metropolitan area and six counties in Kentucky. LYC's music repertoire includes many styles and cultures, including major classic and modern works with orchestra and soloists. LYC offers a choral music experience unique in the region.
