SINGING RIVER HEAD START PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS 2023-2024:1. 2023-2024 WAS THE FIRST YEAR IN THE NEW FACILITY, MAGNOLIA CENTER, WHICH IS CLOSER TO THE CITY OF LUCEDALE. COMMUNITY ASSESSMENT SHOWED A NEED FOR A FACILITY CLOSER TO TOWN.2. COMMUNITY ASSESSMENT SHOWED THE NEED FOR MORE EARLY HEAD START CLASSROOMS. THE ORGANIZATION CONVERTED TWO HEAD START CLASSROOMS INTO TWO EARLY HEAD START CLASSROOMS. 3. SINGING RIVER ADDED A FENCED-IN AREA AT THE BACK OF MAGNOLIA CENTER, WHICH WILL BE THE PLAYGROUND AREA IN THE FUTURE. THIS COMPLETED PHASE 1 OF THE NEW PLAYGROUND AREA.4. THE ASSOCIATION PAVED MAGNOLIA CENTER'S PARKING LOT.5. THE ASSOCIATION PURCHASED A BIGGER FOOD WARMER TO ACCOMMODATE MORE STUDENTS AT THE BENNDALE CENTER.6. THE ASSOCIATION PURCHASED A FINGERPRINTING LIVESCAN MACHINE TO REDUCE PROCESSING TIME OF BACKGROUND CHECKS. THIS MACHINE REDUCED PROCESSING TIME FROM SEVERAL WEEKS TO JUST A FEW DAYS.7. THE ASSOCIATION FUNDED SIX EMPLOYEES TO GET THEIR CDA (CHILD DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATES) CERTIFICATION FOR CAREER ADVANCEMENT IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION. SINGING RIVER HEAD START PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS 2024-2025:1 - THE ASSOCIATION PAID FOR SIX EMPLOYEES TO GET THEIR CDA (CHILD DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATES) FOR CAREER ADVANCEMENT IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION. THE CDA CREDENTIAL ALLOWS THEM TO BE A HEAD TEACHER IN EARLY HEAD START AND A TEACHER ASSISTANT IN THE HEAD START CLASSROOM.2 - THE ASSOCIATION INCREASED CYBER INSURANCE.3 - THE ASSOCIATION INSTALLED LED LIGHTS TO REPLACE OLD LIGHTS AT OUR BENNDALE CENTER, TO SAVE ON POWER AND ENERGY. 4 - THE ASSOCIATION REPLACED THE FULL CLASSROOM DOORS AT OUR BENNDALE CENTER WITH SPLIT DOORS FOR SAFETY, TO ALLOW FOR ACCESS TO BETTER VIEW AND HEAR CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES AND TEACHING. 5 - THE ASSOCIATION IMPLEMENTED A STAFF WELLNESS PLAN TO SUPPORT STAFF.6 - THE ASSOCIATION MPLEMENTED "PARTNERS FOR A HEALTHY BABY" CURRICULUM FOR EXPECTANT MOTHERS.7 - THE ASSOCIATION ADDED A BREASTFEEDING ROOM TO EACH CENTER FOR BREASTFEEDING MOMS.8 - THE ASSOCIATION ATTENDED TRAINING TO PREVENT TEACHER BURNOUT.9 - THE ASSOCIATION ARTNERED WITH COASTAL MEDICAL TO OFFER FLU SHOTS FOR STAFF THAT ARE INTERESTED.10 - THE ASSOCIATION CONTINUED TO PROVIDE COACHING THROUGH A CONTRACT WORKER TO SUPPORT TEACHING STAFF.11 - THE ASSOCIATION UPDATED MANAGERS LAPTOPS AND ALL IPADS FOR CLASSROOMS AND OFFICES.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesMay 1, 2024 – Apr 30, 2025Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$1.6M
