THE FOUNDATION, FREE OF ANY POLITICAL INFLUENCE, SECURES FINANCIAL AND IN-KIND DONATIONS TO SUPPORT AND ENHANCE PROGRAMS, SERVICES, COLLECTIONS, AND TECHNOLOGY THAT THE CITY'S REASONABLE OPERATING BUDGET CANNOT ENCOMPASS. WE WORK WITH THE LIBRARY IN A STRONG PARTNERSHIP, TO DETERMINE WHERE PRIVATE SUPPORT CAN HAVE THE GREATEST IMPACT AND AT THE SAME TIME, NOT REPLACE THE PUBLIC'S RESPONSIBILITY FOR FUNDING THE BASIC OPERATIONS OF A STRONG LIBRARY.
