Journalism Integrity and Training
Accomplishments:At Western Center for Journalism (WCJ) we focus on promoting integrity and professionalism in journalism. We enhance journalisms public esteem and honor through investigative reporting. Our investigative writers produced cutting edge reports and these articles were published on a variety of websites as well as helped our on-line fundraising efforts. WCJ also trains individuals to become "citizen journalists" and bloggers. These conferences include distribution of the bloggers tool kit and advice from experienced bloggers and citizen journalists. These aspiring journalists are provided with technical training and practical advice on quality reporting and commentary. We also deepened our relationship with Arizona Christian University by funding their school of communications and inviting their students to participate in our Social Media Bootcamp and will partner again to train conservative Christian writers. WCJ continues to work with the website EEECenter.org, and the Center for Entrepreneurship, Ethics, and Enterprise. Lead by professor Dave Newton, the Center produces original research and commentary to promote the 3 timeless foundations that have made the American economy the greatest developer of innovation, jobs, and wealth the world has ever seen. 1.Entrepreneurs spot opportunities in all kinds of markets and then take on the risk to create innovative product-service solutions for businesses and households.2.Ethics demonstrate the foundational values that define the value proposition the message made by product-service providers to their target audiences.3.Enterprise is the logical activity whereby all kinds of ventures are launched to facilitate smooth transactions between buyers & sellers.WCJ continued our participation in the Free Speech Coalition and in efforts to fund and assist litigation which we believe fosters free speech and freedom more widely. Throughout the year, WCJ also publishes articles, blogs, etc. on issues that provide insights on government abuse, reporting falsehoods in the mainstream media, and promoting open public debate through quality journalism and reporting.WCJ is partnering with 62 other groups in a coalition sponsored by the Media Research Center to stop censorship of conservative news on Facebook, Google, Twitter and Youtube.WCJ is exploring all action that may be taken to stop the censorship of Facebook, Google, Youtube, Twitter etcand may be involved spearheading this effort if the fight warrants legal action which is winnable.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2019 – Dec 31, 2019Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$302K
