Program 1 [2020]
PLANTING AND MAINTAINING TREES in the GREATER TULSA AREA: All residents and visitors to the Tulsa Metro area benefit from this program because the thousands of trees planted and maintained by Up with Trees contribute to a healthier environment and more livable community. This program also increases the city's canopy cover and serves to educate the community about the benefits of preserving and promoting Tulsa's Urban Forest.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$1.5MProgram 2 [2020]
TREE SCHOOL - Through Tree School, Up With Trees partners with schools to provide a 4-week environmental science course that teaches students about the importance of trees as well as how trees affect our everyday lives from the air that we breathe to the paper that we write on. Each Tree School culminates in a hands-on tree planting of approximately 25 trees on school property with the students. The goal of Tree School is to engage students in environmental education, increase the number of healthy trees on public school campuses and utilize trees as an educational tool. Not only does our Tree School program provide a hands-on tie-in for students' math, science, literacy and history curriculum, but it also encourages students to be active outdoors, take an interest in beautifying their school, and be a part of the solution to make our community better.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$3.3KProgram 3 [2020]
CITIZEN FORESTER TRAINING: This volunteer training and development program combines classroom and field training from Tulsa's top arborists who volunteer their time and knowledge. After four weeks of classroom and hands-on training (including the art and science of pruning), successful candidates become part of an elite volunteer corps that plants and maintains trees in parks and other locations in the Tulsa metro area. Citizen Foresters also become enthusiastic advocates of urban forestry awareness and education.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$1.4K
