ASL assists communities in the protection of private property rights, researches current issues affecting those rights, advocates for the communitys policies that protect those rights and educates the public and elected leaders through seminars and publications.ASL also pursues public interest litigation by (1) litigating issues relating to property rights, (2) providing advice to attorneys working in property rights cases, and (3) facilitating cases related to property rights.ASL spearheaded litigation to delist two endangered species causing significant economic harm to its landowner members who are prevented from using their land and to local governments that provide necessary community services.
