Programs
Program 1 [2018]
For nearly 70 years, Friends of the Dallas Public Library serves as the non-profit supporting the Dallas Public Library. This support includes the librarys 29 branch locations, 400+ member staff along with hundreds of programs and services. In 2017, FoDPL funded programs including English Language Learning (ELL) classes, GED preparation classes and GED Testing Scholarships, early childhood literacy instruction, SMART Summer programs and Storytellers without Borders. In FY 2017, thousands of adults participated in free classes at the Dallas Public Library, funded by FoDPL. Additionally, in 2017, FoDPL volunteers worked tirelessly to marshal public support to restore the librarys operating budget and pass a bond issue. Both initiatives were successful with all locations finally being open 6 days a week to better serve their communities, and a successful bond initiative which will build two much-needed new branch libraries.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2017 – Jun 30, 2018Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$492.7KLibrary Support and Literacy Programs
