Located in the southwest sector of Fort Worth since 1987, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth (THSW) is a 266-bed acute care hospital. THSW provides a wide array of comprehensive services including: surgical and imaging services, a 24-hour emergency department, orthopedics and sports therapy, adult critical care, and a Level II neonatal intensive care unit. THSW earned a Silver Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Award from the TMF Health Quality Institute and is a Heart Failure, Stroke and Chest Pain certified by The Joint Commission. More than 1,600 employees work at the hospital and more than 650 physicians are practicing on the medical staff. During the year, THSW had 54,412 patient days, 14,198 discharges, 82,557 outpatient encounters, 82,557 emergency room visits and 3,062 births. THSW provides quality medical healthcare regardless of race, creed, sex, national origin, handicap, age, or ability to pay. The hospital provides care to persons covered by governmental programs including Medicare and Medicaid for reimbursement that does not always cover the cost of providing the care.
