Emergency Food Assistance Program
Emergency Food Assistance: Rosenberg-Richmond Helping Hands (RRHH) operates a comprehensive Emergency Food Assistance Program, serving as the organization's largest and most vital service. In 2024, RRHH distributed over 1.2 million pounds of food, reaching an average of 1,400 families each month, representing a 133% increase in service capacity over the past three years. This growth reflects the organization's responsiveness to rising community food insecurity and its ongoing commitment to ensuring that "Hunger Stops Here". Our goal is that no child goes to bed hungry in our service area. Food distribution accounted for approximately 95% of RRHH's total program expenses. Through partnerships with the Houston Food Bank, grocers, and faith-based organizations, RRHH maximized the use of in-kind food donations, which made up 71% of total revenue. The program emphasized access to fresh produce, proteins, and culturally relevant staples, all delivered through weekly pantry visits and monthly drive-thru events. This program remains the cornerstone of RRHH's mission, powered by dedicated volunteers and a lean administrative structure, ensuring high operational efficiency and strong community trustGeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$2MClothing Assistance Program
Clothing Assistance In 2024, RRHH provided over 30,000 pounds of free clothing to underserved individuals and families. This included seasonal attire, children's school uniforms, and basic household linens. Clothing distribution represented approximately 3% of program expenses and was carried out entirely free of charge. RRHH's Clothing Closet served as a year-round resource for families in crisis, the elderly, and youth, enabling dignity and comfort while addressing basic needs. Volunteers played a key role in intake, sorting, and client service, allowing RRHH to maintain operations at very low overhead. This program is deeply rooted in our 40-year history and reflects our inclusive, client-centered approach.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$62.7KEssentials and Emergency Assistance
Essentials & Emergency Assistance (Sundries) RRHH provided limited but targeted support to clients in need of rent assistance, utilities, hygiene items, and other critical sundries. Though comprising only a small portion of expenses (less than 2%), these interventions were life-stabilizing for many recipients and often coordinated through RRHH's trained volunteers and intake staff. Clients were screened for urgent needs and referred for available internal and external resources. This service is especially critical for families facing compounding hardships, including job loss, housing instability, or medical crises.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$41.8K
