NEW CHURCH INITIATIVES INC
Programs
Church Planting and Community Support
In 2023 we made significant steps in achieving our mission. Our base of operations is located in Puebla, Mexico. Our first strategic initiative was church planting. We continued to nurture and strengthen the churches that were planted the previous two years. Plus, we conducted 5 church planting conferences with more than 100 pastors, church planters, and lay leaders. We followed up each of these conferences with mentoring and coaching to help these church planting leaders clarify their calling and direction for ministry. We also mobilize 14 teams from U.S. churches to help minister and serve in the communities where our new churches have been or will be planted. Several new churches were started in 2023 from this strategic initiative. Our second strategic initiative was theological education. Puebla Bible Seminary is our base for training. We had more than 150 students in our formal education programs in 2023. In addition to our resident and online education programs, we conducted 9 additional conferences for both new and established pastors in central Mexico, two of which were in Mexico City. Attendance at each of these conferences ranged from 50 to 250. We continued to develop our seminary extension campus in Vera Cruz which we are calling the Emerald Coast Bible Seminary, an extension of Puebla Bible Seminary. In addition to our formal theological training and seminary conferences, we also sponsored our annual Womens Conference in Puebla. This conference draws a large number of women each year for Bible teaching and spiritual encouragement. In 2023 we had another very successful event for women. Our third strategic initiative in 2023 was humanitarian efforts. We continued to serve the folks in the Huilango region who were devastated two years ago by the catastrophic earthquake. In addition to ongoing efforts by our staff we mobilized 4 groups to visit the region and serve the various needs of the people there who are trying to rebuild their homes, their communities, and their lives. We continued to serve the orphans in Puebla through our boys and girls homes. In all the regions that we have been ministering we continue to see the need for clean water. We distributed more than 130 Sawyer water filter systems to the Huilango region and the areas where we are starting new churches. We acquired two water drilling rigs in 2023 and began preparation to make them operational in 2024. Water projects will be an increasing focus for us in 2024. Finally, we continued to nurture our BAM (Business as Mission) projects, our outreach to UDLA students, and our counseling ministry to Puebla Christian High School and the orphanages. Overall, 2023 was one of our most productive years ever in spreading the gospel, training up church planters, strengthening pastors and churches, and serving the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the wonderful people of MexicoGeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$371.1K
