Diverse Workforce Training Program
Diverse Workforce Training -- ReScape provides nature-based, professional qualification for individuals, companies and public agency employees who design, install and maintain commercial, civic, and residential landscapes. Trained professionals from a range of industries, education, cultures, economic levels, ages, genders and experience are essential to revenue-generating business success and to address the climate issues we are facing. We aim to be part of the green jobs list that includes regenerative landscaping standards and practices. ReScape offers workforce development, small business support, public agency relationship development and community development activities. ReScape creates demand for our work by educating and working with public agencies and municipalities, government entities and communities who hire our 8 Principles professionals who are trained in ReScape policy-driven landscape standards and practices. We partner with industry and non-industry environmental groups, public agencies, sustainability and urban city resiliency departments, workforce development agencies, community colleges, the landscape, and AEC Industry (architecture, engineering, and construction) and small business associations.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2022 – Jun 30, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$239.3KClimate Equity Initiative
Climate Equity - ReScapes whole systems foundation requires that landscaping and land use must include and listen to communities of concern, those lacking access and unequally effected by a warming planet. We must ensure a healthy environment, job equity and economic benefits in underserved communities. We aim to be part of a just transition. The only workable climate change solutions include racial, environmental and socioeconomic justice.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2022 – Jun 30, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$51.3KAdvocacy & Policy Program
Advocacy & Policy -- ReScape advocates for state and regional policies, permits, ordinances that encourage and enable implementation of and compliance in regenerative land use. Landscapes produce 12% of GHG emissions. Opportunities exist to reduce emissions and increase the potential to sequester carbon from the atmosphere by enhancing sinks. At a time when climate change, coupled with biodiversity loss, has created a profound, existential planetary emergency, there is an urgent need for the nature-based solutions provided by restored and climate positive landscapes. Our policy focus creates the framework for adoption of legislation at governmental and civic levels to implement regenerative principles that address earthscaping climate change issues. We do this directly through our ReScape Rated Program. Landscapes are certified using a rating system that recognizes excellence in regenerative landscape design, construction and maintenance practices. This rating system applies to new construction or major renovations of civic, commercial, institutional, and multifamily property landscapes. It provides property owners and landscape professionals with a systematic framework for creating healthy, drought-tolerant, and biodiverse landscapes.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2022 – Jun 30, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$51.3K
