Bhai Kanhaiya Sevapanthi Hospital Project
Our organization continues to provide support for Bhai Kanhaiya Charitable Trust (Registered) in Goniana, Punjab, India, for the construction of a Multi-Specialty Hospital named Bhai Kanhaiya Sevapanthi Hospital being built on Bathinda Jaito in Goniana. The hospital will be in the heart of the 6-District Cancer belt in Southern Punjab, where people are most affected by the Cancer pandemic. This hospital will continue Bhai Kanhaiya Charitable Trust's on-going free Cornea Replacement Camps, free Dental Camps and free Hepatitis B and C, and Cancer Screening Camps, besides providing medical care for the poor, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, at the medical dispensary in Goniana, which also provides very inexpensive diagnostic checks for patients. The charges are 30-40 below market rates. About 15000 patients benefit from these programs, every year. All approvals have been obtained from the authorities, except the approval for the Radiation therapy Bunker from the Atomic Energy Dept. The construction of the hospital did make progress, but the COVID-19 pandemic really put a dent in our fundraising efforts this year. The construction has stalled a bit, but we expect to resume construction this year, in the summer. ALL other programs continue as usual, though. We continue to provide free meals, three a day, to the poor, 7 days a week, and have been sending out cooked food to the people who do not wish to leave their homes, as well, without any kind of discrimination. We have served about 90,000 meals in 2021. We continue to provide warm clothing and blankets to the needy, as well. Poor students who attend our schools and colleges, managed by our Chairman, in Goniana, are also provided scholarships for tuition. We are now trying to resolve the issues that have affected the construction of the hospital and looking for ward to more progress.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided––
