Family Empowerment and Re-Entry Services
STRENGTHENING FAMILIES:CIC provides Family Empowerment, including two employment programs and human services center one-stops in Essex and Union Counties in NJ, serving more than 500 participants annually in meeting employment and social service needs. Life coaching coupled with trauma-informed care methods and using cultural competencies contribute to overall programming success.CHILD WELFARE:CIC annually services 150 youths, including foster care adolescents, absent any participant encountering school drop-out or the justice system encounter through resiliency training and risk factor strengthening using evidence-based curricula and experiential methods to enhance pro-social behaviors year-round. RE-ENTRY FROM PRISONS:CIC is a leader in juvenile reentry wellness services in Union County, NJ, and a state-wide leader in women's reentry, pre-and post-release. Annually serving around 40 justice-involved youth and 100 justice-involved women, outcomes demonstrate a less than a ten percent recidivism rate and/or violation rate in both reentry programs surpassing state and national recidivism averaging at around 50%. In 2022, CIC excelled in statewide women's reentry and youth development programs as well as enhancement services to include family referrals to meet the program participant's assessed needs.We served over 100 women annually in reentry services with a recidivism rate below 10%. Additionally, we provided life coaching for 100 at-risk youth in Union County, resulting in zero involvement in the juvenile justice system. Our justice-involved youth program served 30 youths annually with a recidivism rate below 10%. Moreover, our foster care teen development program equipped at least 30 youths per year with essential life skills, including job readiness and interpersonal skills, with weekly sessions.Our programs prioritize life skills, interpersonal development, and pro-social skills, fostering resilience with evidence-based curricula. We served over 100 women annually with reentry support, maintaining a recidivism rate below 10%, and facilitating meaningful reunifications between mothers and their children. In Union County, we provided life coaching to 100 at-risk youth, with no juvenile justice involvement, and served 30 justice-involved youth with similarly low recidivism. Our foster care teen program equipped 40 youth annually with life and job readiness skills.
