Feeling Home Theatre Experience
Feeling Home is an original immersive, sensorial theatre experience to educate and inform audiences about unjust immigration policies, remove stigmatization, eliminate misinformation, and create empathy and compassion toward immigrants. We have partnered with the San Mateo County History Museum, where an acting ensemble will perform in the multiple-roomed museum. The audience will travel room to room to partake in the experience. The interactive art experiences throughout the production will deepen the story and audience experience. The audience will explore themes of leaving home, discrimination, finding a place through work, maintaining their culture, and other challenges immigrants face. These themes coincide with the museum's Land of Opportunity gallery themes. The immigrant artists and their distinct stories lead this project. This combination of museum theatre, social justice, and celebration is a unique experience for the artists and audiences. Grant funds are used to pay the artists involved and other production costs while keeping ticket costs affordable.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$11.6KVirtual Open Mic Nights
