Senior Health and Wellness Programs
Senior Programs are built around our Lunch Bunch program to further support the physical and mental health of our community seniors. This year we continued hosting AARP monthly meetings to communicate information about relevant topics and resources for those over 50 and celebrated birthdays during the month. Seniors in Motion provided ability appropriate stretching and exercise weekly and we have two talented musicians, Ellen Rayfield and Paul Conley, that lead sing-alongs throughout the month. Long-time favorite programs of Storytelling and Bingo continued to further the sense of community and belonging that we strive to provide in Third SpaceGeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided––Lunch Bunch Meal Program
Lunch Bunch provided 6833 hot, nutritious meals this year, during the 243 days we were open thanks to an amazing group of volunteers from the congregation and community. Working with Liliana, our amazing part-time Kitchen Manager, these dedicated individuals make our senior guests feel welcome and connected by serving delicious food, especially the pies for dessert!, and engaging in conversation and laughter. Over the course of 2024, over 120 individual seniors benefited from the warm hospitality, fellowship, and hot lunches provided by this valuable LVPC supported program. Holiday potluck luncheons were particularly festive and well attended this year with the room overflowing with laughter, singing, and fellowship. Halloween included a costume contest and Thanksgiving included a special hot beverage service provided by our new partner Sherpa Coffee & Tea.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided––Documentary Thursdays
Documentary Thursdays were placed on hold for a portion of the year while the Third Space Committee re-organized but then, thanks to the expertise and passion of Anita David, offered six different films in the Spring. Each included important, relevant topics, followed by meaningful discussions with the filmmaker and audience, making these free events unique within the community.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided––
