  • Senior Home Assistance Program

    Grannys Lil Helpers see: msmseniors.com grannys-helper was established to assist seniors who the lacked the day-to-day physicality to adequately maintain their own homes. Community volunteers assist seniors with light chores; such as painting flooring plumbing hanging outside Christmas lights yard work brush and-or snow removal. Countless volunteers from all over the Chicago-land area provided their time and hard work throughout the year on programs for seniors such as; 1. Senior Spring Cleaning & Removal of old or unwanted items out to the trash and items that could still be used were dropped off at donation centers. 2. Summer Yard Shrub Clean-up where volunteers used their own equipment to remove yard debris trim hedges ect. of needy seniors. 3. Fall Senior Leaf Raking Program where once again volunteers used their own equipment and supplies to rake and bag leaves of seniors yards. 4. Winter Snow Removal Program.   • In-Home Healthcare for Seniors

    "Helping Seniors Age at Home" MSM understood that for seniors to be able to stay in their own homes and "age in place," they would need more adequate in-home Home Healthcare Services. So we began a collaborative effort with many Home Healthcare agencies Doctors Nurses and Physical Therapist to provide additional in-home health services by visiting hundreds of seniors in their own homes throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs along with an urgent focus on the most medically and economically under served communities. This alone has helped over 500 to 1000 individuals when including Seniors family members who also benefit from the assistance by taking much of the burden of caring for their elderly loved- one off of them. The programs operating cost MSM approximately $17,800 and also helped over 1000 seniors throughout the Chicago-land area.

  • Holiday Baskets for Seniors

    Holiday Baskets for Seniors MSMs Holiday Baskets program is special in multiple ways. It brings community volunteers together several times throughout the year to arrange baskets filled with many things seniors can use daily. From colorful flowers to decorate their homes for many seniors and of course a variety of candies cookies and fresh fruit. But more importantly is the sincere joy that they bring to seniors many of whom live alone. These special baskets are also an opportunity to perform well-being checks and give much needed company to the elderly of our community. This program came at a cost of $15,000 to Making Seniors Matter for the year.
