  • Senior Horse Sanctuary Program

    Senior Sanctuary In 2019 FCR began a program to provide sanctuary and care through end-of-life to unwanted senior horses. This program is significantly different that our other rescue and rehome work and much more costly. We continue to focus on developing the financial support needed for this work including sponsorship for our seniors. Most of the buildings and storage areas are upgraded and maintained to continue their care and storage of items to be able to care for them for the rest of their lives. This year we did a major drainage project to help with the mud in all the pastures. We rebuilt the senior living stalls and prepped there area with safe footing to allow them to live a free life 24 7 as they please.

  • Equine Rescue and Rehabilitation

    Equine Rescue - Specializing in Critical Care FCR accepts unwanted horses or those in need to rescue from individuals or brought to us by humane societies and law enforcement. The rescue transports these horses and provides for their nutritional medical farrier and rehabilitation needs. We often rely on foster homes to complete the rehabilitation process. Rescue horses are re-homed after rehabilitation based on our screening process to ensure that horse and home are a good match. This program is supported from the rescue's general operating funds. We regularly have remove and add fencing and building materials to care for the specials needs on sick contagious horses. This often requires fencing to be torn down and replaced due to contamination. The ground has to be prepped also to rid the area of disease. We added a lounge to the main barn to assist with horses that need to be in a sling. The lounge area allows volunteers a safe weather controlled space to live outside with the horse that is in the sling. The room has a refrigerator microwave beds and Tv to help with the personal needs of volunteers we also provide a porta potty for those volunteering to stay with sick animals.

  • Auction Save Horse Rescue

    Auction Save FCR regularly attends horse sales and auctions to purchase horses that would otherwise end up in slaughter. As with other rescues we transport these horses and provide for their nutritional medical farrier and rehabilitation needs. We often rely on foster homes to complete the rehabilitation process. Auction save horses are re-homed after rehabilitation based on our screening process to ensure that horse and home are a good match. This program is supported by funds donated for this specific purpose.
