"Partnering with Poise": Delivered three online group courses for care partners of people living with Alzheimer's disease to manage the emotional and physical demands of caregiving by learning Alexander technique based strategies. Course was delivered for the first time virtually, and for the first time to a nationally recruited group of care partners of people living Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. 2 instructors were trained to deliver the course. 29 care partners of people living Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.were served. We received IRB approval from the University of Idaho to include two of these courses in our research on outcomes of Alexander technique training for family care partners, in order to compare outcomes for this online course with outcomes from our in person course pilot study. Pre- and post-course subjective data was collected, as well as executive function assessments, and conducting semi-structured interviews for 17 care partners. A control group of 9 care partners was also recruited and data was collected. We also collected 6 month post-course subjective data from 8 care partner participants, and additional executive function assessments and semi-structured interviews from 7 of the care partner participants, from a course that was delivered in Fall 2021. Also, we collected subjective data and executive function assessments from 4 control group participants. Course was funded by the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, and research funding from the American Society for the Alexander Technique.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2021 – Jun 30, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$4.5KResearch and Educational Presentations
