  • Yin He Dance Company Performances

    Yin He Dance Company - a professional dance company which performs Chinese dance throughout the greater Chicago area. The company bridges east and west, past and present via repertory works passed down by master teachers as well as new works, especially those by members of the Chinese diaspora. In 2024, our group of 7 dancers performed at events throughout the greater Chicago area which served about 20,000 audience members.

  • Yin He Dance Center Activities

    Yin He Dance Center is our physical space in Bridgeport (Greater Chicago Chinatown) which houses dance classes for all ages, holds rehearsals for Yin He Dance Company and resident artists, and where we hold our summer apprenticeship program. The dance center served about 60 students who took classes in Chinese folk, Chinese classical, and kpop dance. The 2024 summer apprenticeship program had 4 participants. The students and apprentices performed at local neighborhood events for about 10,000 audience members.

  • Community Engagement Through Dance

    Community Engagement - Yin He Dance offers educational classes and performances at schools, libraries, and other institutions. This past year, Yin He instructors taught at 6 public schools and presented performance programs at 2 libraries. We also performed a "School Matinee" at the Logan Center for the Arts, set a culturally accurate "Chinese Variation" with the Hyde Park Dance School for their annual Nutcracker production, and performed at the Field Museum's Chinese Culture Day.
