  • Astrodome Reuse and Redevelopment Planning

    In Fiscal Year 2023, the Conservancy focused its programmatic efforts on advancing planning and predevelopment activities for the reuse of the Astrodome. We contracted with a professional consultant to create a Development Plan for the organization, as called out in our Strategic Plan. We established systems to enable us to raise significant funds to fulfill our mission in future years and we launched the first phase of a budding membership program. The Conservancy hosted its 3rd Annual Race for the Dome event in April which resulted in increased participation and awareness throughout Houston. We also contracted with a professional design firm to create a vision for the future reuse and redevelopment of the Astrodome which will be presented to community stakeholders and decision makers in 2024.
