Black Girls Cook Culinary Program
Black Girls Cook is a non-profit organization with a mission to teach adolescent girls of color self-actualization activities and life-skills through the use of culinary arts and edible gardening with an emphasis on Black Foodways. We taught over 75 girls residing in under-represented neighborhoods the importance of optimal health. Black Girls Cook's core programming includes the BGC Culinary Program which provides hands-on cooking training and lessons on black food history and foodways; the BGC Edible Gardening Program which teaches participants how to grow vegetables, herbs and understand the importance of growing their own foods; and Kitchen Sink Beauty which teaches participants about skin care during the puberty stage and how to create beauty and haircare products with ingredients found in their kitchen for profit.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2022 – Jun 30, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$188.1K
