    PROGRAM SERVICE 1: Bicycle Collection, Refurbishment, and Distribution: In 2024, Bay Area Bicycle Rescue collected over 1,200 donated bicycles that would otherwise have been sent to landfills. Through our workshop at 1411 23rd Ave in Oakland, our staff and volunteers refurbished and distributed over 800 bicycles to community members in need of transportation. We partnered with Oakland city departments to provide bicycles for community programs, helping reduce transportation barriers and environmental waste. An additional 290 bikes were sold to support our operational costs, with all proceeds reinvested in the program.
