Turtles Fly Too Transport Program
Some might find sea turtles and airplanes an unlikely match, but Turtles Fly Too has used the combination as a way to help endangered marine species and to facilitate recognition of general aviation. Since 2014, Turtles Fly Too has facilitated transport of thousands of sea turtles by volunteer general aviation aircraft.In 2022, the organization received in-kind donations of services including flights, pilots, hangar, and other transport costs of $511,113.During the year, Turtles Fly Too facilitated the transports of 451 total endangered species in 35 mission flights including:29 Loggerhead Sea Turtles, (Caretta caretta) CC5 Green Sea Turtles, (Chelonia mydas) Cm6 Olive Ridley Sea Turtles, (Lepidochelys olivacea) Lo410 Kemps Ridley Sea Turtles, (Lepidochelys kempii) Lk1 ManateeGeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$16.5K
