Comprehensive Family Support Programs
Education, Nutrition, Healthcare: The campus in Les Cayes offers opportunities for many vital programs and support to both children and their families with the ultimate goal of keeping the family unit together. During 2024: Education - 1274 students received full/partial scholarships; 66 teacher positions funded; 794 parents attended meetings. Healthcare - 590 individuals treated in clinic; 12 cases with special needs managed; 28 community leaders received HC training 80 psychosocial activity events. Empowerment Programs: Overtures social support model empowers Haitians of all ages at the individual, family and community levels toward independence and self-sufficiency. The model encourages community parternerships and supports locally-driven services that enable families to meet the basic needs of their children: education, nutrition, healthcare, empowerment programs and infrasturcture. Infrastructure: Overtures infrastructure initiatives include the development of physical frameworks that support communities, such as community centers and safe housing. They also include the development of social networks that strengthen families for independence or self-sufficiency.
