Tree Planting and Care Initiative
Tree Planting & Care - Trees Lexington engaged volunteers to plant 268 trees, mulch 290 trees, and water over 400 young trees in 2024. Trees were installed at public school campuses, parks, affordable housing development as well as a neighborhood green space. Trees Lexington provides assistance in project planning and implementation as well as educational resources on tree care after planting, such as the Tree Stewards training. The Tree Stewards training offers hands-on educational programs and events to engage and train local Tree Stewards on the value and care of trees in Lexington. Tree Stewards are equipped with the knowledge and skills to be leaders in their neighborhoods and community projects enhancing our urban forest.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$107.1KCommunity Tree Giveaways
Tree Giveaways - Trees Lexington empowers residents to plant and care for trees on private property. We do this by providing free container trees to the Lexington Community and expert-level guidance on tree placement, installation, and care. Over 550 trees found homes in Lexington at the Spring and Fall Tree Giveaways in 2024.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$21.3K
