The tax exempt status for Washington Engine Co. No 1 includes events and fundraisers to benefit an all volunteer fire company. There's a lot of work done with special needs children. Meet and greet with Santa, color run and bowling with first responder. During these types of events when the community is involved there is usually refreshments or some type of gifts for the children or the people involved. The benefit for us is to be able to continue without the extra burden of taxes. It is the mission of Washington Engine No 1 to continue all these events.
