Kauta School Water System Project
KAUTA SCHOOL. Installed 10,000 ltr solar water system for school and surrounding community. Project includes a newly drilled borehole, double steel tank-stand fabrication, (2) 5,000 ltr water tanks, and installation of all solar components (pump, panels, cables, pipes, taps). Implemented construction of tap-stands including hand-washing station and a private girls washroom. Previously, the school shared water source with nearby village: a hand-dug well w/ handpump that constantly needed maintenance. Running water inside the Girl's private washroom gives girls a safe space and keeps them in school during menstruation. 605 students served (+ 400 households in surrounding community)GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$23.4KMbira Secondary School Water System Project
MBIRA SECONDARY SCHOOL. Installed 10,000 ltr solar water system for school and surrounding community. Project includes retrofitting drilled borehole, double steel tank-stand fabrication, (2) 5,000 ltr water tanks, and installation of all solar components (pump, panels, cables, pipes, taps). Implemented construction of tap-stands throughout school. We also built the very first set of showers (they previously used buckets). Our work resulted in running water for the very first time in this. school/community. The students had never had access to running water in their lifetimes. The school's attendance increased from 600 students to 900 students now that they have water. 900 students served + 574 villagersGeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$18.9KPendre Watering Hole Project
PENDRE WATERING HOLE. Installed 10,000 ltr solar water system for wild animals inside one of the largest national parks in Malawai (in collaberation with African Parks). Due to the intense heat and lack of consistent rain in recent years, the animals were dying of thirst. There were not enough water points inside the park. Solar water system includes a newly drilled borehole, a 10,000 ltr water tank for backup water, fabrication of a steel tank-stand,and installation of all solar components. A camera trap was set up, allowing us to receive images of the visitors. 14,000 animals services including lions, elephants, antelope and water buffalo.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$14.6K
