  • Southport Open Your Doors Project

    UYA sponsored half a year-long project called "Southport, Open Your Doors" involving doors donated from an historic home remodel. Local artists rendered their visions of a post-pandemic future using the doors as their canvasses. The doors were on display at various public locations through March 2022 when they were auctioned at a public gala. Proceeds paid for architectural and other services related to planning for the renovation of the City of Southport's former city hall into a creative and performing arts center.

  • Southport Plein Air Festival

    UYA co-sponsored the 2022 Southport Plein Air Festival with the City of Southport on May 13-14, 2022. Over 75 artists registered for the event @ $50 and at least 250 people attended grant-funded activities free of charge.

  • Weekly Open Mic Sponsorship

    UYA was paid $250/night to sponsor a weekly open mic session at American Fish Company from October-December 2021 and March-September 2022. UYA paid a master of ceremonies $100 night + audio to manage the range of participating local musicians. Estimated average crowd size was 150 per night.
