    In order to conserve both birds and bats in the western Great Lakes region, we sponsored bird counts, encouraged habitat improvement, organized meetings of like minded groups and individuals to discuss what others are doing in the conservation movement, established automated bird tracking stations, and worked with young people to educate and encourage interest in the conservation of birds and bats.
