Blooming Flower Housing Program
Blooming Flower Housing Program for 18 women ages 18 + receive a safe supportive living environment where they can the wrap-around services in a community with other vulnerable females. One house operated for twelve months and one house operated for seven months. Blossom Supportive Services Holistic Wrap-around Services: In addition to safe housing participants receive case management career coaching therapy and life skills development necessary to build stronger families secure living wage employment transportation to and from medical and employment appointments and community support to complete or continue working towards education goals. In addition they also receive case management food hygiene products financial literacy education in-person and hybrid survivor trauma-informed therapy services. Each participant receives a minimum of 8 services per year. Blooming Buds Community Garden is a transformative initiative that supports survivors of trauma abuse and other life challenges by providing a healing space to food engage in wellness activities and build community. Programming and Operating Support for Bee Collective: The Bee Collective significantly expanded its community education and support initiatives to meet the growing need for prenatal birthing and postpartum care. Key accomplishments include Increasing the size of our prenatal doula cohort which receives ongoing mentorship coaching and professional development. Increasing diversity by recruiting training and mentoring Afro Latinx Latinx and Indigenous birth workers. Expanding our Prenatal Safe Spot Lending Library now serving multiple families and addressing key service needs such as housing transportation mental health legal aid and childcare. Deepening community engagement through events such as the Community Doula and InDaba Gathering 200+ attendees and Birth and Healing Justice Gathering in South Carolina which received significant recognition. Creating spaces for healing via a community altar for grief loss and ancestral healing supported through visual and performing arts.
