Stories We Tell: Veteran Spouses
Stories We Tell uses multimedia to tell the stories of veteran's spouses across generations. In 2022 we were honored to send a team to Columbus, GA to interview Jeannie Puckett. We recorded her interview and released it in 2023 through 14 segments of blog style articles with dynamic photographs. The purpose of this is to strengthen the intergenerational connection we have throughout decades of conflict in our country.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$2.8KHeart to Script: Military Spouses
Heart to Script is a program where we teach military spouses how to write a monologue. From that class, Amy Uptgraft, our founder, wrote a play called in*Between which weaves those monologues together. In fall of 2023 we put on a reading of that play in Knoxville, TN which allowed us to give civilians a glimpse into the "in between" of military families.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$22.1KHealing Through Creativity
Healing Through Creativity has created and maintained virtual community through workshops and classes that use creativity and expressive arts to provide a space for veteran spouses to tell their stories and find healing in community. Healing Through Creativity has been a lifeline to military spouses who feel isolated and alone as they bear the wounds of war and as they strive to put their families back together after long separations and deployments.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$3.7K
