DECATS 2020 Summer Program
Beginning September 1, 2019, the corporation's officers and business staff prepared for the DECATS 2020 summer program at three locations in Houston. Since this was the first year to operate as a 501c3 corporation, all bank accounts, accounting technology, participant software, business relationships, etc were set-up and established during fall of 2019. Our development manager secured several grants to fund the upcoming 2020 program. 100+ mentors (instructors) were contracted to teach during the program as well as 500+ participants registered to participate. In March 2020, the COVID pandemic started and, as a result, in May 2020, the program at all three locations was cancelled. PPP proceeds were secured and supporters confirmed all previously granted proceeds could be used to pay already incurred and ongoing expenses, as well as, a percentage of officer, business and mentor salaries. Participants registration fees and any tuition paid was refunded. Families had the option to re-designate any portion of their previous payments as a donation to the organization.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesSep 1, 2020 – Aug 31, 2021Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$475.3KProgram 1 [2024]
