Disaster Relief and Personal Hardship Grants
WEX Cares Foundation, Inc. was created in 2018. The organization provides grants to current and future WEX employees and their dependents who are adversely impacted by catastrophes, natural disasters and other personal hardships. These include qualified disasters within meaning of the code; other natural disasters such as fire, flood, storms, and earthquakes; medical emergencies and serious illness; the death of an employee or eligible dependent; serious physical injury; victimization by domestic abuse or violent crime; housing emergencies beyond the employee's control; and military deployment. All grants will be awarded pursuant to a uniform, pre-established application process that documents the grant recipient's qualifying event and financial need or distress. Disaster relief and alleviation of personal hardship is the primary activity of the Foundation. No other activities currently are contemplated.
