Rural Community Opioid Response Program
The Rural Community Opioid Response Program's purpose is to bring Substance Use Disorder prevention, treatment, and recovery resources to the rural communities we serve. Through the program, CareAz has opened a Resource Center for individuals and families, developed the warm hand off initiative for individuals leaving the justice system, and implemented a ride program to ensure that individuals with Substance Use Disorder have access to detox, treatment, and other essential services.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2021 – Jun 30, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$222.2KProgram 1 [2024]
The Strategic Prevention Framework Program is funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to prevent the onset and reduce the progression of substance misuse and its related problems while strengthening prevention capacity and infrastructure at the community level. In tribal communities of Apache County, CareAz has successfully engaged community stakeholders to form the Youth Running Strong Task Force. The Task Force consists of educational professionals, law enforcement, healthcare professionals, government agencies, parents, students, the religious community, and the business community. The Task Force has addressed alcohol and opioid prevention during Covid 19 restrictions by ensuring regular contact with youths who are unable to attend school in person. A quarterly activity which fosters safety measures such as social distancing is held consistently to ensure that each family is reached as much as possible. CareAz is currently working with the Task Force to develop culturally aligned evidence based programs to improve community collaboration, increase connectivity, and mitigate the effects of poverty that contribute to Youth Substance Use Disorder. In nontribal communities of Apache County, CareAz provides evidence based education to adults, youth, and families as well as resources for justice involved individuals. Resources are provided at the SOS House, a center for individuals and families suffering the negative effects of Substance Use Disorder, and for justice involved individuals who need resources to successfully reenter the community upon release.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2023 – Jun 30, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$320.7K
