Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Programs
Resilient Retreat is dedicated to empowering those who have experienced trauma and abuse as well as first responders, helping professionals and those who experience vicarious trauma/compassion fatigue through their work. Resilient Retreat has been offering variety of evidence-based programs since it opened in 2018. Those programs have included: neurofeedback, equine therapy, a rich variety of support groups, empowerment-based workshops, expressive arts therapies, bibliotherapy, yoga, meditation, animal assisted therapies, nutrition workshops, etc. These programs are offered in person as well as virtually, in order to serve as many participants as possible. Since we began offering programs, we have supported over 425 survivors, helping professionals and first responders in their journey toward healing their minds, bodies and spirits. Additionally, through a variety of curated trainings and workshops, Resilient Retreat has helped and educated over 1300 community members. Data collected to date from program participants has shown decreases in depression, a reduction in suicidal thoughts, an increase in emotional clarity, an increase in improved sleep, increases in knowledge and decreases in days of work missed due to stress. Resilient Retreat is building an 18,000 square foot Retreat Center and a 5,000 square foot Community Center on 84 acres of conserved land, where survivors and first responders/helping professionals will be hosted for multi-day retreats. Participants will have the opportunity to sample a wide range of evidence-based programs, to see what is most helpful to them, so that they can incorporate supports into their own life. The Retreat Center and Community Center are expected to be fully operational in the latter part of 2022. Additionally, the Retreat Center and Community Center will hold a variety of day and evening programming for survivors of trauma, first responders, teachers, medical professionals, mental health professionals, advocates, and social workers so that we can meet the ever increasing needs of the local community.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2020 – Jun 30, 2021Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$502.1KProgram 1 [2024]
