In 2023, NCSU began construction on an innovative wound care room providing self-care supplies and educational materials for the treatment of skin and soft tissue infections and xylazine ulcerations. The organization broadened its groundbreaking community drug checking programming, allowing participants the information to protect themselves from an increasingly contaminated drug supply. NCSU also held multiple trainings for health departments and health and social service professionals on topics such as pregnant and parenting people who use drugs and the hospitalization experiences of the populations NCSU serves through its Narcofeminism Storyshare material, a collaborative autobiographical story development process which disrupts stereotypes and defuses stigma against people who use drugs.
