Nhowe Mission Hospital Solar Initiative
AMOS contributed to finish the grant that was made last year to outfit the 62-bed Nhowe Mission Hospital with solar electric system. This hospital serves about 60,000 patients per year but electric power from the government-owned utility system is at best sporadic. The new solar system is intended to provide 24-hour electric service. Without it, outages sometimes last nearly a week and while the hospital has a back-up generator it is fueled with prohibitively expensive diesel. The solar system will displace that fossil fuel as well as that used by the state-owned utility in providing service to the area.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$0Nhowe Mission Hospital X-Ray Project
