Program 1 [2019]
Our activities include supporting Corcoran Country Daze, which is a kid-friendly, two-day outdoor festival that brings members of the community together for great food, music, & activities including an antique car show, a free kid's day, & a softball tournament. The event is run solely by volunteers from the community & is chaired by the President of the Corcoran Community Fund. The event was started as a way to create civic pride & bring Corcoran together, as the city covers 53 square miles but only has a population of approximately 6,000. The free kid's day is the cornerstone of our weekend with over 3,000 people visiting us on Saturday to spend the day with their kids. We offer educational activities for kids, as well. Examples of this include: a music school which brings instruments for kids to play & discover music; reptilian expert bring his amphibians to teach kids about them; a karate school that does demonstrations & teaches kids basic moves; a kid's DJ & karaoke tent, which encouraged kids to sing & dance, no matter your skill level; & local handymen/construction trades members join us to help kids build birdhouses or feeders. Our concerts, which help allow us to put on our kid's day event, saw over 2,700 people in attendance during the two days of music. Corcoran Community Fund also intends to support the K9 unit with the purchase of needed supplies. As members of the community have reached out to us to make donations for this purpose, we have printed Tshirts & purchased stuffed animals to sell with the funds going towards the K-9 unit.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2019 – Dec 31, 2019Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$192.2KProgram 1 [2020]
Due to the pandemic, the annual event, Corcoran Country Daze, was not held in 2020. Instead, the Organization planned an outdoor drive-in movie & fireworks show with other area Organizations to support community building efforts within the Corcoran community.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided––Corcoran Country Daze Festival
In 2022, Corcoran Country Daze, a kid-friendly, two-day outdoor festival that brings members of the community together for great food, music & activities including an antique car & tractor show, a free kids' day, fireworks & fun, had its most successful & most attended festival ever. The event is run solely by volunteers from the community & is led by the Chair of the Corcoran Community Fund. The event was started as a way to create civic pride & bring Corcoran together, as the city covers 53 square miles but only has a population of approximately 8,000. The free kids' day is the cornerstone of our weekend with over 3,000 people visiting us on Saturday to spend the day with their kids. We offer educational activities for kids, as well as other activities to let all kids play without concerns about costs. Examples of this include: a music school which brings instruments for kids to play & discover music; a karate school that does demonstrations & teaches kids basic moves; kid's bingo, which uses shapes & colors instead of numbers so all ages can play & practice their identification skills; & local handymen/construction trade members join us to help kids build birdhouses or feeders. One of our favorite parts of kids day is our school backpack giveaway. We packed the backpacks with school supplies including: markers, pencils, colored pencils, erasers, glue & glue sticks, a pencil box, folders & a notebook. We gave away 700 bags at no cost to any child that wanted one. Our goal is to help all children in our community start the school year off not worrying about having the necessary supplies for their success in the classrooms. There were also 10 local businesses & organizations that had booths providing information about their business this year during kids day as well as 12 local artisans that were selling their crafts & cottage foods. Additionally, our concerts, which help allow us to put on our kids' day event at no cost, saw over 4,000 people in attendance during the two days of music.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$315.6K
