On April 22, 2023 the festival was held in person at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia and also in a virtual format. 1,444 student musicians from 19 states and 1 territory. 60 schools participated. Educational clinics, master classes and collegiate performances held throughout the day at the Convention Center and the Award Ceremony was aired on YouTube together with school videos who participated in the virtual format. The festival remains the largest independent high school jazz festival in the eastern US.
