Peer Support for Young Adults
Madis House operates a free peer-led community space for young adults ages 18 to 30 living with mental health challenges or in recovery from substance use. The center provides a safe stigma-free environment where members can connect through group activities creative workshops and casual conversation-reducing isolation and promoting hope and healing outside of clinical settings. Services are provided its members at no cost. New members were added at an average of 100 per month with about 1400 at the end of 2024. The drop-in model allows participants to engage at their own comfort level fostering trust and belonging. Objective: To prevent suicide and crisis escalation by offering consistent community connection and supportive relationships rooted in understanding and compassion.
