  • Howdy Modi Event

    TIFs primary vehicle for actualizing its purpose was the organizing and hosting of the Howdy Modievent in Houston in 2019. Howdy Modi (short for How Do You Do, Modi) was a community summithosted by TIF for the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which was also attended by the President ofthe United States, Donald Trump, on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at the NRG Stadium in Houston,Texas. The event featured a grand celebration of culture and unity of America and India, where attendeesheard Prime Minister Modi speak about the deepening US-India ties strengthened by the confirmationsof estimated 3 million Indian Americans in the United States. The event was also a platform for PrimeMinister Modi to lay out his vision for the continuous Indias growth and development. Howdy Modiwas attended by an estimated 50,000 or more people, including a number of US legislators andprominent business and community leaders from across the United States.
