  • Every Second Matters for Mothers and Babies

    The number one cause of pregnancy related deaths worldwide is postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), life threatening bleeding after childbirth. To solve this crisis, Vayu supports multiple programs around the world combatting PPH including Vayu's own program, Every Second Matters for Mothers and Babies - Uterine Balloon Tamponade (ESM-UBT). ESM-UBT is an ultra-low-cost, easy to use, safe and highly cost effective package that provides training for medical personnel in partnering countries and an FDA approved uterine balloon device that can be used to avert PPH. ESM-UBT was designed as an affordable alternative to Western uterine balloons which are far too expensive to be distributed widely in developing regions.
