  • Cultural Events for Ukrainian Aid

    In 2023 we organized multiple cultural events, of which the biggest ones were Ukrainian Independence Day, attended by 80 people and featuring Ukrainian singing and poetry, and the annual charitable Ukrainian Christmas concert attended by over 100 people and featuring Ukrainian singing and dancing, live music, food, and a Ukrainian band as headliners. Both events were fundraisers for Ukraine's humanitarian aid. Independence Day celebration was held on August 26, 2023 and the Ukrainian Christmas Charity Concert - on December 16, 2023. In addition, throughout the year UCCD organized smaller events such as pysanky making to propagate Ukrainian history and culture. The club also was featured in several folk festivals across DFW area (e.g. Lewisville ColorPalooza), which was an effort to continually expose the local public to Ukrainian culture, as well as fundraise throughout the year.

  • Humanitarian Aid Collection for Ukraine

    We organized humanitarian aid collection for Ukraine. UCCD was instrumental in supporting the collection, storage and shipment of medical supplies, clothing, blankets, and nonperishable food in 2 40-foot containers that were sent to Ukraine via sea shipments to support humanitarian relief. UCCD paid for transportation of these containers.
