    Frenzy Fest - (May) - Frenzy-Fest, our main project and the first psychological festival in East Harlem, is a bilingual competitive theatrical-cinema-festival focusing on social and psychological vulnerabilities serving to increase awareness and empathy about the stigma of mental health. Frenzy Fest focuses on the human psyche as the totality of all elements forming the mind with professional mental-health practitioners after each show. The selected plays must reflect some form of a "Frenzy" episode, (Frenzy: a kind of mental agitation, violent outburst, emotional breakdown, delirium and, rage or excitement seems to lead us to unconsciousness, and that can become negative when control is lost or behavior transgresses what society considers "normal") and topics that can trigger in a frenzy episode such Depression, Rape & Domestic Violence, Poverty, Cultural Identity, LGTB issues, drug additions, immigration and minorities, or PTSD disorder among others. Additionally, all plays must promote multicultural dialogue and the freedom of creative expression, and tolerance for community members experiencing mental disorders such as: agitation, delirium, furor, hysteria, and madness resulting from a psychotic condition, as a result of drug or alcohol abuse, or as a casual frenzy episode, which anyone in an extreme moment may experience. After an open call BIP and a group of judges select six plays that were present at El Barrio/s Artspace PS109. All plays ends with a Q & A with mental health professionals after each show at the theater and online. At the conclusion of the festival the judges vote for the best play and the bests short film (The judges included actors, films producers, and mental health professionals). The winner play producer will presents the play at Artspace, who as a partner of the Festival will provide the theater to the winning production at no cost and other prizes, the best short film receive an economical compensation, both winners receive the statute. Our base includes the communities of El Barrio among others. East Harlem is an area where many immigrants live and by presenting the issue of minorities, ethnic, cultural and racial issues, domestic violence and poverty will attract this community that faces these problems. Also the participants are of different ethnicities. These gives us a wide target since all people, or directly or indirectly, have had to face some of these situations. Our target includes the communities of El Barrio among others. Also the participants are of different ethnicities. The 2024 selected plays and short films were from different ethnicities and states. Plays: "Memorias del Corazon" produced and director by a puertorrican from New York actors from Venezuela (2 actors), "Mi nombre es..." produced and directed by a puertorrican from New Jersy (2 puertorrican actresses), "Aqui fuego" produced and directed by produced and directed by a Dominican from New York (1 dominican actrees and 1 argentinian actor - Selected 2024 Short Films: "Five session" by the puertorrican Dr. Jaime Estades from NY, "ATM Card" directed by a puertorrican from LA, "Bay for Blood" directed by an afro-american from NY, "Eight of Dead" Director from Finlandian radicado en NY, "Instruction for crying" from India, Peachy from NY-director from an anglo American 30 days Online and Six days at the theater El Barrio's Artspace PS109- 4 participants selected plays (8 shows), 5 selected short films and one feature film for 30 days online -- 800 audience members at the theater and 1,500 audience members online - Sold Out every night

    Tuya siempre, Julita- The grand premiere of the new version of "Tuya siempre, Julita" Story that resonates deeply in our community and touches hearts and inspire audiences. Our presentations took place at the Miriam Colon Theater within the Julia de Burgos Cultural Center from June 13th to June 16th, and feature two highly respected actors and exceptional stage directors: Belange Rodriguez in the role of Julia de Burgos (Award-Winning Actress) and Jose Cheo Oliveras (Founder & Artistic Director of Teatro Circulo), all under the co-direction of Amneris Morales(Puertorrican Award-Winning actress and director) and Ivan Goris (an Award-Winning Actor from the Dominican Republic). "Tuya Siempre, Julita" is a thought-provoking play that intricately explores the life and legacy of the renowned Puerto Rican poet, Julia de Burgos. Authored by Mr. Roberto Ramos Perea, one of Puerto Rico's most esteemed playwrights, the play delves into the challenges faced by women, embodied by Julia de Burgos, in their quest for recognition as writers within a cultural milieu dominated by male authority. Through this rendition, previously untold narratives are unveiled, and shedding light on the intimate relationship between Julia de Burgos and Luis Lloréns Torres. Much has been said about Julia de Burgos, her poetry and her tragic life. However, history continues to surprise us with new findings about her loves and her struggle to become what she eventually was and continues to be, the greatest Puerto Rican national poet in our entire history. "Tuya siempre, Julita" was published for the first time in 1993 and following its publication and subsequent presentations of this work where the hypothetical love relationship between Julia and the poet Luis Llorens Torres was presented, there were many comments of astonishment, especially from Julia scholars who thought that this relationship was just gossip. However, after thorough studies, it was proven that not only was this relationship a reality, but also that the poetry of both poets reflected traits of a kind of mutual plagiarism. The author, Mr. Ramos Perea, came from Puerto Rico and during the opening night leading perceptive Q&A sessions that delve into the creative process and the narratives behind the play and, the producers, along with the directors of the play, and actors offering an enriching opportunity for audience engagement. Those conversations offering insight into the life and influence of Julia de Burgos on contemporary literature and theater, also. The play was presented on June 13, 14, 15 and 16 at the Teatro Miriam Colón at Julia de Burgos Cultural Center (1680 Lexington Ave. New York NY 10029) 10 participants (3 actors and 7 crew members participants - 4 show - Reach 500 audience members "Reactivation of Memory Through Art Workshops" Acting, Dance and Sing Workshops at Acacia Network seniors - This program is specifically designed for the senior community from ACACIA Network with its main focus on the development of the participant's capacities making use of the techniques of representative art. Through theatrical games, singing songs and dancing, that serve as an integrating and disinhibiting agent, we will gradually enter the world of the imaginary, where each student will walk at their own pace within the group context while they prepare to live the experience of being on stage achieving perhaps a lifelong dream... to be able to sing or dance or act like an artist. Three months long workshop at ACACIA Senior Centers - 35 participants Showcase The Shining Stars in the Golden Age Showcase "La Gran Fiesta - A show with the ACACIA Senior Reactivation of Memory Through Art Workshops participants at Hostos Community Collage Theater at the Bronx. for all the community. They have prepared with the teachers during the workshops and in several rehearsals.
