Wildlife Conservation Training
A team of researchers from Texas A&M University continue to evaluate the methods and successes of releasing endangered macaws and parrots at a wildlife refuge. Biologist from the team continue to educate rescue center staff on pre and post-release monitoring techniques. Veterinary internship-49 international students were trained in wildlife medicine. Wildlife internship- 121 students were trained in wildlife conservation and welfare. Wildlife reintroduction internship-27 conservation students were trained in ethical and effective wildlife reintroduction and monitoring techniques. A veterinary imaging specialist from the United Kingdom provided 5 weeks training in diagnostic imaging for the veterinary staff of a rescue center.
