Veteran Transitional Housing Support
Esperanza En Escalantes Board of Directors hired a new CEO in 2023. The United States Department of Veterans Affairs awarded Esperanza an additional three years of grant and per Diem funding for seventy-two transitional beds. One hundred and forty-seven Veterans and their families lived in Esperanzas transitional program this year. Esperanza also supported 148 veterans and their families living in long term housing. Esperanza focused its social service efforts on suicide prevention, employment services and overcoming housing barriers in 2023. We focused our operational efforts on campus improvements. Esperanza hired an all-Veteran maintenance team who have worked to renovate most Esperanzas 72 transitional bedrooms in 2023.
