SHERPA INSTITUTE
Programs
Sustainable Development Goals Engagement
1. In the post-covid lockdown era SHERPA Institute provided guidance to organizations to maintain a focus on SR and to engage in the UN SDGs despite previous training engagements falling victim to budget cuts. SHERPA Institute maintained coaching sessions with professionals in organizations with prior training engagements in our methodology. This required substantial usage of our collaboration platforms as well as non-compensated investment of time. Paraphrasing ISO 26000 explains our commitment to organizations despite budget cuts: the perception and reality of an organizations performance on SR can influence among other things: competitive advantage and reputation; ability to attract and retain workers or customers; maintenance of employees morale commitment and productivity; the view of investors owners donors sponsors; and its relationship with companies governments the media suppliers peers customers as well as the community in which it operates.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$6.3KUN SDG Career Guidance Series
2. SHERPA Institute achieved the completion research and writing of two manuscript online resource drafts for the 17-Volume UN SDG Career & Corporate Guidance Series: SDG8 - Full Employment and Economic Growth and SDG12 - Sustainable Production and Consumption. Three additional SDGs were nearing completion in 2023: SDG3 - Health & Well-Being SDG4 - Quality Education for All and SDG5 - Genfer Equality. These resources are specifically aimed at education about career choices and corporate engagement in the UN SDGs.Achieving this involved recruitment of interns and subject matter experts from across the globe and copy editing. Again this required substantial usage of our collaboration platforms as well as non-compensated investment of time. The number of persons benefiting from this initiative is difficult to measure but we know that we are making a difference..GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$9.5KLocal Environmental Initiatives
3. While SHERPA Institute thinks globally we act locally. Even with large multi-national corporations we encourage them to reach into the communities in which they operate. We have demonstrated our own commitment to local action; some examples include online collaboration support of an e-waste recovery initiative in India and the first two installations of our SHERPA Pollinator Rescue SPR beginning in North Alabama the southernmost point of the Appalachian Monarch Butterfly population. The latter effort is expanding in stages with the first aim to cover the Appalachian Monarch Butterfly migration route. We have formed collaborations with organizations including Monarch Watch and continue to educate and take action on reversal of bee population collapse as well as the fragility of many crucial pollinators. This includes education about the essential role of pollinators to the security of our food supply. The number of persons benefiting from this initiative is immeasurable.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$975
