    Community Window on Environmental Exposure: 3 Part initiative 1)Pollution Patrol Ambassador - residents conduct weekly patrols to identify, gather photo & video evidence of violations including illegal dumping, chemical emissions, etc. Evidence uploaded to BBHP IVAN Network.2)Biomonitoring Community Window on Environmental Exposures Monthly Open House-offering pro bono consults, technical assistance, environmental education. Promoting community empowerment. Creation of Hunters Point Community Toxic Registry Enrollment website, over 120 residents entered into Registry. Environmental Crime & Grime Blog - available in print and on-line in SF Bayview. Metrics include increase in IVAN reports and biomonitoring intakes.

  • Biomonitoring for High Risk Residents

    Biomonitoring Screenings for Low Income High Risk Hunters Point Residents. Low income, underinsured residents living, working, and having regular exposure to the Superfund Site under excavation, remediation, and demolition are offered the Genova Diagnostics Comprehensive Profile Elements toxic exposure screening test which costs $135. Those at highest risk are identified by geospatial mappings and research findings on health effects of Superfund proximity. 150 screenings have been performed.

    Navigating the Toxic Triangle in Bayview Hunters Point, our master program in conjunction with Marie Harrison Community Fndtn, James Dahlgren Medical, Golden State MD and the SF Bayview Newspaper. Funds used for IT & Data Analysis hardware, tools, and digital upgrades. Environmental health evaluations, biomonitoring screenings & advanced speciated verifications were funded. Manual poster board geospatial mappings of chemical and cancer clusters converted to digital formats. Community Toxic Registry digitized. Website built. 4 Geospatial mappings of chemical and cancer clusters. Research and Development continue.
