Education and Advocacy Meetings
Held monthly project team meetings for the Education, Advocacy, and Implementation groups, and occasionally working groups (e.g. a group to develop an energy audit Request for Proposals (RFP) template for SSAFE Chapters). Held monthly general meetings with speakers (which were recorded). At these meetings, Chapter residents shared ideas and accomplishments with residents on other campuses and learned about climate change-related issues. Published quarterly newsletter reporting on actions that various SSAFE Chapters have taken and educational articles about aspects of climate change and how to reduce greenhouse gasses. The newsletter is directly sent to 900+ people and about 30 printed copies are sent to each of 14 SSAFE Chapters (over 400 copies total) to be shared with administrators and anyone expressing interest in SSAFE activities. Produced a template for a Request for Proposal for an energy audit. Produced a template for energy-related measures to take when turning over an apartment or cottage.
