Tongva/Gabrieleno Cultural Preservation
To perpetuate, protect, and promote the maintenance, growth, and cultural revitalization of the Tongva/Gabrieleno Peoples traditional ways of life.To protect, preserve, culturally revitalize, and foster Tongva/Gabrieleno traditions in order to provide for future generations of the Tongva/Gabrieleno descendants.To encourage and implement, the revitalization of material and non-material aspects of Tongva/Gabrieleno culture, with focus on the land and maritime culture, language, arts, dance, music and oral histories.To provide education programs within the Tongva/Gabrieleno community, with a particular emphasis on educating Tribal youth and supporting elders, in order to assure the continuity and growth of Tongva/Gabrieleno culture.To protect and preserve in perpetuity the integrity of the Tongva/Gabrieleno descendant's ancestral lands and waters with emphasis on land and water sites innately sacred ("religious") and paramount for cultural retention, revitalization, and intergenerational growth in perpetuity.To support Indigenous peoples' effort to retain, preserve, protect, and expand the integrity of their cultures as outlined within the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.To research, produce, and disseminate information and promote public awareness about the history, cultures, and contemporary issues of the Tongva/Gabrieleno descendants.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$95.1K
